PhD in Business Administration Curriculum

The PhD in Business Administration at the Mitchell College is designed as a three-year program with the course work and qualifying exams completed during the first two years. The third year is devoted to the completion of the research component of the program. All program requirements can be completed in 36 months.
Classes meet approximately three times per semester with students arriving on Thursday evening. Classes are scheduled on Friday morning, afternoon, and evening, Saturday morning afternoon and evening, and Sunday until early afternoon. Students complete two classes (six credit hours) each semester plus a one-hour seminar component. The program format allows students to maintain their current employment while enrolled in the program. Students should expect to complete course work and research assignments during the periods between scheduled class sessions.
Program Requirements: Students are required to complete 42 credit hours (36 hours of course work + 6 hours of research seminars) during the first 2 years and 18 hours of dissertation research hours during their third year, for a total of 60 credit hours.
The PhD in Business Administration program has three areas of focus; Business Analytics, Management and Marketing.
